Tine is a local-first outliner. It has no Tine account, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking.

Your graphs and notes

Tine does not upload your graph or note contents to Tine servers. Your data stays on your device, or in a folder or storage provider that you choose. If you use a third-party sync service, its handling of the files is governed by that service's privacy policy.

Network access

Tine may contact public Tine or GitHub endpoints to check for app updates, retrieve signed community-plugin catalogue metadata, or open documentation and project pages that you request. These requests can expose ordinary connection information such as your IP address and user agent to the service receiving them. Tine does not attach your note contents to those requests.

If a graph contains a remote image, video, iframe, or other web embed, displaying it can contact the service named by that URL, such as YouTube or Vimeo. Opening a web link does the same in your browser. The remote service receives the URL and ordinary connection information; a URL can itself contain information chosen by the graph's author. Tine does not send the surrounding note text.

Tine plugins run in a capability-limited sandbox. They do not receive unrestricted access to the network, native platform, or your filesystem.

Information we collect

We do not operate accounts, analytics, advertising, or tracking systems for Tine, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

If you email support@tine.page or deliberately send information through another support channel, we receive the address, message, attachments, and technical details you choose to include. We use them to answer you and investigate the issue, and retain them only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or legal obligations.

Your choices

You control your local graph files and Tine's app data through your device. You can remove a graph from Tine without deleting its files, delete the files yourself, uninstall plugins, or uninstall Tine. To ask about support correspondence or this policy, email support@tine.page.

Changes

If Tine's data handling changes, this page will be updated before the affected release is distributed. Material changes will be described plainly in the release notes.
