• Where things are
  • A short map of Tine's main places, so the recipes in this Guide make sense on first read: the page in the middle, the left sidebar, the tab strip, the right sidebar, and Settings and Help. Each place links to the workflow that teaches it — nothing here is a rulebook.
• The middle: one page at a time
  • The center shows the page you're on. Tine opens on the journal feed — one continuous, editable list of days — and the Journals item in the left sidebar always takes you back to it.
  • Everything you write is a block (one bullet). Blocks nest under other blocks to form the outline, and any block can carry a task, a date, a link, or its own id for references from elsewhere.
  • Press Ctrl+K at any time to jump to a page by name or to text inside any block.
• The left sidebar: your graph's contents
  • At the very top sits the workspace switcher — saved window layouts, covered in Workflows/Keep context visible. Just under it, the graph-name menu switches between the graphs Tine knows, with Open graph… and New graph… beside them — on desktop, Shift-click a graph row to open it in a second window instead of switching this one.
  • Below the menu: Journals, then fold-up Favorites, Recent, All pages, and the Namespaces tree, where Project/Roadmap nests under Project. Favorites and Recent remember per graph whether you left them open or folded.
  • The + New page button at the bottom opens the same Ctrl+K box; a name that matches nothing becomes a page you can create. Press t l to fold the whole sidebar away, and t l again to bring it back.
• The tab strip: what's open
  • Every open page keeps a tab along the top, browser-style: click to switch, Ctrl+W to close. Middle-click anything that opens a page — a link, a search result, a bullet's dot — to park it in a background tab without leaving this one. Tabs come back after a restart.
  • Tabs are a desktop feature — the mobile app hides the strip so one page keeps the screen.
• The right sidebar: parked context
  • Anything you want beside the current page rather than instead of it — another page, or zoomed into one bullet — goes to the right sidebar: Shift-click a link or a bullet's dot. Items there are live editors, not previews. Press t r to show or hide the whole sidebar.
• Settings and Help
  • The gear at the top right (or press t s) opens Settings: appearance, editor behavior, graph files and backups, and the remappable shortcut list.
  • The ? button at the bottom right (or press Shift+?) opens Help: this Guide, the shortcut reference, and links out to release notes and bug reports.
• On a phone
  • Below a 640 px window width, either sidebar opens as an overlay on top of the page instead of shrinking it — tap the shaded outside edge, press Esc, or use Android Back to dismiss. Split panes and the tab strip are desktop-only.
  • Reference/Platforms and mobile separates narrow-window behavior from native-app behavior and maps each platform's shipping surface.
